Marketing & sales

Community manager

You will be forging strong relationships with the renters on the platform. By helping them get the very best from ParkatmyHouse, you can empower them to make even more money for their families and provide the best service to drivers on the platform.

You will also be organizing fun offline events for our customer evangelists, building this community from the ground up in an entrepreneurial and passionate way.

You will finally manage social media and our new blog and be responsible for shaping and evolving our brand’s voice. But we’re a small company so you’ll get exposure to an even greater range of work.

Essential skills and experience

  • 2.1 or above from a top 10 UK university (or equivalent)
  • At least 18 months of top quality professional experience
  • Familiar with Google Apps, Excel and Word
  • Avid user of Facebook and Twitter
  • Native English; fluency in second European language a big bonus

B2B Sales Specialist

Contrary to what the name might suggest, ParkatmyHouse.com isn’t just about houses. We also work with businesses, commercial car parks, and hotels, to allow them to make money from their unused car park spaces.

You’ll be working to ramp up our relationships with these commercial clients, both growing our penetration within existing companies, and actively seeking new partners.

This will involve a combination of phone work and follow up meetings – you’ll be managing your own time, and be driven by high targets, so this isn’t a role for a shrinking violet.

What does that mean?

  • Reaching out to potential customers through a combination of email and phone work
  • Account management: you’ll be guiding your new customers through their first 90 days on our platform
  • Lead generation: you’ll be proactively looking for new business
  • Relationship building: you’ll be an ambassador for the company, and impress our clients with your knowledge and friendly manner
  • Time management: you’ll be managing your own time and targets

Engineering

Front-end Developer

Must have

  • HTML5, CSS3, splicing designs.
  • Experience with a JS framework. (or multiple) (jQuery, Backbone, Angular, Ember)
  • Modular JS (RequireJS etc.)
  • Experience with CSS pre-processors. (LESS, SASS)
  • Version Control (Git)
  • An interest in learning, and sharing knowledge with others.
  • Excited by the web, advancements in development tools and techniques.
  • Be motivated. We have fun, but we work hard to ship our code.
  • Be able to work in either Cardiff or London. (Cardiff is cooler <-- Dayle wrote this)
  • Fast learners. (The web moves quickly, as do we.)
  • Good taste in music. (Honestly, this is the most important. Spotify)

Nice to have

  • Graphic design skills.
  • UX Design.
  • Photoshop / Illustrator.
  • Laravel PHP framework experience.
  • Experience with RESTful API's.
  • Front-end build processes. (Grunt, Gulp)

Any additional skills from the 'Back-end Developer' role would be a bonus. We appreciate 'all-rounders' as well as specialists.


Back-end Developer

Must have

  • PHP (we are using 5.5, square brackets huzzah!)
  • Have used a PHP framework previously.
  • Appreciation of clean code. (Patterns, standards (PSR-2) and modern implementations.)
  • Well tested code. (We use a mix of behat/phpunit)
  • Version control (Git)
  • An interest in learning, and sharing knowledge with others.
  • Excited by the web, advancements in development tools and techniques.
  • Be motivated. We have fun, but we work hard to ship our code.
  • Be able to work in either Cardiff or London. (Cardiff is cooler <-- Dayle wrote this)
  • Fast learners. (The web moves quickly, as do we.)
  • Good taste in music. (Honestly, this is the most important. Spotify)

Nice to have

  • Laravel PHP framework.
  • Elasticsearch.
  • RESTful API development experience.
  • Queuing systems.
  • Payment/ e-commerce systems. (Not magento! (stripe etc))
  • Linux administration.
  • Continous integration systems. (We use Travis, private.)
  • Vagrant (We use ansible for provisioning.)

Any additional skills from the 'Front-end Developer' role would be a bonus. We appreciate 'all-rounders' as well as specialists.


Mobile Developer

Must have

  • Up to date iOS and Cocoa development skills.
  • Experience building iOS apps from RESTful API's.
  • Able to develop for retina devices.
  • Clean code, developed using best practices.
  • Understanding of UIKit, GCD, Net and Core Animation.
  • Performance profiling with XCode.
  • Experience with continuous integration platforms and writing well tested code.
  • An interest in learning, and sharing knowledge with others.
  • Excited by the web, advancements in development tools and techniques.
  • Be motivated. We have fun, but we work hard to ship our code.
  • Be able to work in either Cardiff or London. (Cardiff is cooler <-- Dayle wrote this)
  • Fast learners. (The web moves quickly, as do we.)
  • Good taste in music. (Honestly, this is the most important. Spotify)

Nice to have

  • Android (Java) development skills.
  • Design skills including Photoshop.
