This fantastic 'Gastro-pub' was awarded a Bib Gourmand in the old faithful Michelin Guide. The Swan is like the local lass who went up to London and came back with a new wardrobe and new attitude, but never lost her sympathy for her roots. This cherished 15th-century pub has been very stylishly refitted, with blond wood floors, sleek cream walls, leather seating, moody lighting and modern fireplaces to complement the aged beams... your Prada will look good here! The menu is confident modern renderings of classic British cuisine. There are starters like warm crab tart with green salad and lemon saffron dressing, and mains such as roast fillet of beef with mustard and herb crust and rosemary and garlic potatoes. Don't forget The Swan garden - beautifully paved and shaded - to catch the late morning and afternoon sun.
