The Gallery at sketch has just been voted a phenomenal rating of Number 18 in Restaurant's Magazine's prestigious annual 50 Best Restaurants in the World' Awards, announced in April 2005. Quoting the editor of Restaurant Magazine, "the Pierre Gagnaire-inspired cuisine is just one of the reasons why sketch may represent the future of dining...a gorgeous-looking, multi-sensory temple of enjoyment."
The breathtaking sketch has become a magnet for the media, artistic, fashion and style crowd, as well as serious consumers of fine French cuisine. The brainchild of superchef Pierre Gagnaire and Mourad Mazouz, of Momo, the Gallery, is a large buzzing, less formal space on the ground floor. Open to the public throughout the day as a video gallery (with a new programme every six weeks) The Gallery is transformed for dinner, although video projections remain throughout the evening on the doubled height walls.
The menu features French-based dishes such as Sea Bream panfried with bean sprout, spring onions, green apple and salsa roja, or lamb in spice crust with aubergine, prunes with hazlenut and yoghurt. Organic vegetables show incredible freshness and taste, the soup trolley offers several intriguing options, a small pasta section offers gnocchi, fusilli and spelt risotto. The emphasis is on natural produce, with seasonal garnishes. And the scene is alive and vibrant, with people drifting in from the bar, enjoying a meal, and continuing their evening in the Gallery which then closes at 2am.
Please note that sketch Gallery only takes bookings up to 1 month in advance. Should you request a booking further in advance to this, your booking confirmation will be delayed.
Cancellation policy - prior to 12pm on the day, no charge. £20 per person will be charged for late cancellations (dinner)and £30 per person will be charged for no-shows.
A credit card is required to reserve a reservation, if there is availability - this is simply to secure your booking, absolutely no money will be charged to the card except in the case of late cancellations. There is a 2 hour turnover on all tables.
