In an area of London stuffed to the gills with places to dine and drink, Ole has rapidly established itself as a favourite. Some places just have that 'it' factor, and while Ole isn't grand or supercool, it does seem to have plenty of 'it'. The restaurant frontage is deceptively narrow, but enter it and you walk into a good-sized bar and restaurant decorated in the modern white cubic style with straightforward tables and seating. The barman is a hoot, presiding over his mirrored and stained-glassed area. The tapas are superb. Seriously. Try croquettes filled with cheese, spinach, and ham, one of the gorgeous Spanish omelettes with chorizo or bonito, better-than-usual patatas bravas, and terrific charcuterie, the surtido de Ibericos. We have a sort of thing about the lemon and cava sorbet, but maybe it's just us. The wines are almost all Spanish, and why not? The service is eager and friendly and the whole experience just right.
