Tucked behind St Bart's Church round the corner from Smithfield Market, Betjeman's is a charming find, its historical location reflected in a pared-down look of stripped wooden floors, old darkwood furniture and plain cream walls. A cosy bar leads to a second (dining) room where specials are chosen from a blackboard. The food is bona fide British.
