Frankie's bar and restaurant in Knightsbridge is the flagship in the chain of family restaurants created by Marco Pierre White and Frankie Dettori. Walk in and you'll be whisked back in time to a 1920s Chicago jazz club, with copper-coloured glitter balls and mirrored walls giving an air of glitzy decadence. Designed to please both children and adults, the food is down-to-earth but delicious Italian. Starters could be lentil soup or calamari, followed by spaghetti Bolognese, Dover Sole or a 10oz rib-eye steak, while puddings run from the voluptuous (chocolate mousse) to the virtuous (fresh mango with maraschino). What else? There's a good Italian wine list with loads under £20; they put on a great Sunday lunch, so you can do the family-that-eats-together thing without slaving all morning; oh, and the coffee's so good you could be in Naples rather than Knightsbridge.
