Okay, hands up those of you who think this is a diner that serves great cocktails? And those of you who think it's a bar with great food? An even split, then, and so be it. This very smart, rather loud, happening joint located just inches away from Oxford Street is a fantastic place for burgers, classic and obscure drinks, and great vibe. The decor is somewhat diner-esque, but bent through a sleek modern prism. The staff are celebrated for their friendliness. Open from breakfast onward, Eagle Bar Diner is renowned for its burgers, both standard with extras like red salsa or fried egg, and also specialty burgers including Greek, Arkansan, Mexican, and Italian, and there are hot dogs, steaks, and other comfort fare on offer. The milk shakes are to die for, both virgin and boozy, and we dare you to try to peanut butter martini. DJs in the evening from Thursday to Sunday.
