Pupils' safety 'put at risk' by parking ban
A PRIMARY school says children's safety will be put at risk by a council's plan to ban parents parking in surrounding streets.
The driveway in front of St Mary's Catholic First School in Devon Road, Poole, used to be a congested nightmare for parents in the morning and afternoon.

Anger over car parking time cut - Cockermouth
A ROW has broken out over new proposals to cut free parking to half an hour on Cockermouth's two main shopping streets.Cumbria County Council has launched a review into on-street disc zone parking, loading and waiting times. The plans affect Main Street, Station Street, South Street and Lorton Street.
Some retailers are against the move to reduce disc parking times for an hour to 30 minutes on Main Street and Station Street, where most of the shops are.

Parking zones for residents loom
RESIDENTS' parking zones could be introduced in four areas surrounding Rotherham town centre in a bid to prevent commuters clogging up streets and leaving no space for residents.Rotherham Council is also looking at extending the time when parking charges apply in the town centre as part of a shake-up of restrictions aimed at ensuring visitors are not put off visiting the area because they struggle to find somewhere to leave their vehicles.

Disabled parking row takes new twist
DISABLED patients at Coventry's new University Hospital are still having to fork out to park their cars - five weeks after being promised free parking.
On October 20, hospital chief executive David Roberts promised that the new free spaces for disabled badge-holders would be up and running within three to four weeks.

Hospitals' parking malaise
