Community

We’re very proud of our community spirit. Maybe we’re being hopelessly romantic but we love the idea of bringing strangers together so they can give each other a helping hand and make life a bit more straightforward.

The unique thing about ParkatmyHouse.com is that the service takes place both online and in the real world. Although a parking arrangement starts off with anonymous space owners and parkers communicating via e-mail, the probability is they’ll end up meeting face-to-face and shaking hands at some point.

You’ll already find people using ParkatmyHouse.com sending each other Christmas cards, throwing in tea and biscuits with their parking space, or offering holidaymakers leaving their car drop-offs to and pick-ups from, airports. All we need is for two people to meet and get married through ParkatmyHouse.com!

On an all together different note, ParkatmyHouse.com is rooting for local businesses. Town centres throughout the country are generally well-serviced by public transport but that doesn’t stop motorists being put off visiting high streets by difficulty of finding a parking place. Shops and restaurants face a constant uphill battle against big supermarkets and shopping centres with large, on-site car parks.

The way we see it, if residents around town centres lend their support to the service, ParkatmyHouse.com will improve access to high streets, encouraging shoppers and visitors into the area and helping local businesses flourish.

And there’s one other thing ParkatmyHouse.com would like to do when it comes to local communities. That is to put a stop to ‘parking rage’, a phenomenon fuelled, needless to say, by the scarcity of parking in our streets. There are frequently reports in the press about motorists getting into punch-ups over a parking space or going to extreme lengths to park their car – like deliberately bumping into the parked car in front or behind just to squeeze into a spot. You’d never think it but the majority of minor scrapes and bumps to vehicles are caused one way or another by parking rage.
